Verdun Adventure Bound, an educational 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, will kick-off its inaugural Wounded Warriors Challenge and Family Day on Saturday, May 10, 2014. This kick-off benefit event is for the new Verdun Adventure Bound Wounded Warrior Family Program in partnership with local nonprofit, Operation First Response, Inc.

 Participants may choose to compete as an individual for the 5K Cross Country Race or establish a four person team to perform Three Challenges; 5K Cross Country Race, High or Low Ropes Element, Canoe Obstacle Pond Race.  All proceeds will benefit the Verdun Wounded Warriors Program.

 Awards:  5K Cross Country- Fastest Female and Male in 7 Age Categories;  in addition Top Student, Family and Adult Team will receive awards

 Registration must be completed and fees paid by April 15th to ensure participants receive Race Packets (Race t-shirt, bib, pins, and goodies.)  Post entries accepted.

Levels of Participation and Entry Fees

Level 1: Challenge Individual 5K Cross Country Race - $25 and free will donation. 

Level 2: Challenge TEAMS of 4:  1) Student Team:  Grades 6th -12th $25 per participant AND $200 in raised donations.

Level 3: Challenge TEAMS of 4:  3) Family Team: Grades 6th - Adult $25 per participant AND $200 in raised donations.

Level 4: Challenge TEAMS of 4:  2) Adult Team:  18 and over; $25 per participant AND $400 in raised donation.


Challenge Day and Family Day Timetable and Events - Saturday, May 10, 2014

7:00 - 8:45AM:  Check-in.

9:00AM:   5K Challenge Cross Country Race for Individuals and Teams.

9:30 - 11:45AM: Team Challenge for either both High and Low Ropes Element & Canoe Obstacle Pond Race.

11:00AM:  Chili Cook-off Set Up.                              

12Noon: Awards Ceremony at the Anne Marie Sheridan Amphitheatre.

12:30PM:  Chili Cook-off Tasting and Judging.           

12:30 - 3:00PM:  Live Music at the Anne Marie Sheridan Amphitheatre.

12:30PM:  Hay Rides, Stable & Garden Tours.            

Vendors: Warrenton Red, Hot &Blue and Cold Stone Creamery.

2:00PM:  Winner of Chili Cook-off announce at the Anne Marie Sheridan Amphitheatre: 

3:00PM: Wrap-Up of the Day
