The facilitator will: Define credit and explain why it is important. Describe the purpose of a credit report and how it is used. Explain how to order a copy of credit report and how to read and analyze one. Identify ways to build and repair credit history. In addition, we will: Define what a loan is and identify the costs associated with loans. Identify the factors lenders use to make lending decisions. Compare installment loans and rent-to-own services. Explain costs of rent-to-own, payday loan, and refund anticipation services. Explain federal laws that protect consumers when applying for a loan. Explain how to guard against predatory lending practices. (Pre-registration required)
